Are you experiencing foot pain that is growing with each passing day? Well, you must not neglect the condition or it will worsen to give you sleepless nights. It is a good idea to visit a podiatrist for a quick diagnosis. There are hundreds of women like you suffering from different types of foot problems. You must understand the cause of the pain and choose the right procedure that will help you get rid of your pain permanently. There are many reasons for the discomfort to grow - illness, medical disorder or intense exercises. I know one of my pals who used to cry in pain. Her podiatrist found doing exercises regularly is leading to such problem. After stopping all exercises, my friend's foot pain disappeared.
This is just one cause of foot pain. There are multiple instances of women visiting podiatrists every day to eliminate their discomfort. You might have a painful foot or ankle or joint due to many reasons.
Each foot has 26 bones, several muscles, tissues, and nerves. Our feet offer support to the body when standing, walking or running. A painful foot is bound to cause trouble making you uncomfortable when walking or standing. If you love high heels, you should immediately go for a foot check-up to find whether your shoes are the cause of pain. A podiatrist gets many cases of foot pain caused due to wearing shoes with a narrow tip and narrow base. High heeled shoes have a narrower base with a pointed tip. They put excessive pressure on the foot joints and give less support to the foot. Thus, high heels put too much pressure on a small region leading to discomfort and ache.
The more the height of your heels the more you are closer to developing a chronic pain in the foot. It may even cause long-term damage to your foot muscles and tendons. One useful advice is to wear high-heeled shoes occasionally and flat shoes regularly. High-heeled shoes can bend your toes to cause a range of ailments including ingrown toenails. Squeezing your legs in a narrow toe box may lead to plantar fasciitis, bunions, back pain, and different nerve problems.
High heel footwear makes you bend forward disturbing your natural body alignment. Also, tight-fitting shoes do not leave any gap for the toes to breathe and get fresh air. Skin rashes and inflammation may result because of wearing tight shoes. Putting more pressure on your toes will automatically lead to tilting your body in the forward direction. To balance your body you might have to forcefully lean backwards creating a posture that will stress your knees, thighs, and back. Slowly it will lead to sciatica, a medical condition where the nerves become trapped causing pain and numbness in the lower part of your body till the feet.
In addition, wearing heels for a long time may cause your calf muscles to shorten leading to pain. In particular, Achilles tendon gets shortened because wearing shoes with a pointed toe and narrow base restricts its growth. Wearing flat shoes in this case will not decrease pain.
Pregnant women also suffer from various foot ailments since they have to carry their baby's weight along with them. However, after giving birth to the child, such pain disappears. Many women suffer from foot problems due to weak health. If you are suffering from diabetes or arthritis, you are most likely to develop foot pain.
